Our Contributions
For almost two decades, our volunteers have carried out invaluable efforts on behalf of the children in Latin America. Through the development of different activities, we have raised funds and added the contributions of important sponsors and donors, destined for the improvement of the institutions we support.
2019 – Donation of $ 32,300 for a surgical microscope for the Napoleón Franco Pareja Children’s Hospital utilized for otorhinolaryngology, plastic, neuro, and endodontic surgery.
2018- Donation of $ 32,187 for a control unit designed to deliver continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT) at the Napoleón Franco Pareja Children’s Hospital.
The Prismaflex System delivers all therapy modalities of CRRT and therapeutic plasma exchange (TPE) without additional equipment, including:

2017 – Donation of $ 23,000 for a High Frequency Oscillatory Ventilator (HFOV) for the Napoleón Franco Pareja Children’s Hospital
The High-frequency oscillatory ventilation (HFOV) is a lung-protective strategy that can be utilized in the full spectrum of patient populations ranging from neonatal to adults with acute lung injury. HFOV is often utilized as a rescue strategy when conventional mechanical ventilation (CV) has failed.
Used for the following procedures:

- Interstitial pulmonary emphysema and air blocks,
- Broncho pleural or tracheo-esophageal fistula,
- Pneumonia with pulmonary hypertension in its severe form (it is a uniform lung disease),
- Meconial aspiration syndrome in its severe form
- Pulmonary hypoplasia with congenital diaphragmatic hernia,
- Extrinsic restriction (due to diaphragmatic thoracic disease)
2016 – Donation of $ 22,000 for an Intubation Fiberoptic Bronchoscope, Incubator and Chapel Aid for the Napoleón Franco Pareja Children’s Hospital .
The intubation fibroscope is of great importance in cases of difficult or impossible previous intubation, when the possibility of difficult intubation exists, in facial, tracheal or cervical trauma, obstruction of the upper airway and in patients with congenital pathology of the development of the craniofacial mass. , allowing to avoid the typical damage to the teeth, jaw and mandibular joint. It is used for patients with a high risk of gastric content aspiration.
2001-2018 – “La Casa del Niño” Napoleon Franco Pareja Children’s Hospital (HINFP), Cartagena, Colombia.
We have helped the Napoleón Franco Pareja Children’s Hospital which since 1940 has provided comprehensive health services to the child population of Cartagena de Indias.
5 cardiac surgery monitors, surgery lamp, translucent surgery table, pneumatic surgery drill, wheelchairs, stretchers, surgical instruments and various outpatient equipment.
To celebrate the partnership program between Coral Gables and Cartagena, we joined forces with the Rotary clubs in both cities to donate a heart monitor.
In collaboration with the Miami Children’s Hospital, we conducted an educational mission of American pediatric specialists for medical teachers and students, along with the donation of medical equipment. We helped in the efforts to build the Doña Pilar Intensive Care Unit and the X-ray room. Logistics and transportation of 20 vital signs monitors and 28 computers donated by Miami Children’s Hospital.

Funds to buy school uniforms for children after the January 2010 earthquake in Haiti.
2010 – Community Council for People of African Descent, Rosario Islands, Colombia
The construction of ecological baths using the “muroeco” technique.
2002-2007 – Teresa de Jesús Volunteers, Cartagena, Colombia (training school for students and their mothers)
We contribute to the budget of the institution. The donation covered food, supplies, tuition, school uniforms, and medical care.
2006 – REI Foundation, Cartagena, Colombia (Disability Rehabilitation)
Funds for its operation and an electric wheelchair.
2006 – Divine Providence Home House, Mexico City, Mexico (Children with Cerebral Palsy)
Food subsidy funds.
