About us

Founded in 2001, Sharing for Kids is a non-profit organization with goals aimed at raising funds to improve the health conditions and education of children in Cartagena, Colombia.

Colombia is a country experiencing economic and political difficulties. The unemployment rate increases more and more every day, leading to and increase in the poverty rate. Currently, the unemployment rate in the city of Cartagena ranges between 7-9% and the Bolívar poverty rate is 30%.

The Napoleón Franco Pareja Hospital Foundation, also known as “La Casa del Niño”, has been helping an increasingly number of children living in poverty. In 2018, the hospital treated 22,129 emergency cases and monthly provides health services to nearly 11,000 children. Currently, the cash flow of the Hospital does not allow the purchase of the most essential instruments for the care and well-being of children.

The Casa del Niño Hospital is the only charitable hospital specialized in childcare in the entire Atlantic Coast. It provides services to children come from other regions of the country, and even from outside the country, as is the case of Venezuelans. It also contains a special program for cases of sexual abuse in the community, as there has been a rather alarming increase.

In view of these problems and many more, the Sharing For Kids organization continues to actively raise funds to help heal all these sufferings of sick, abused and low-income children.

Additionally, Sharing for Kids volunteers also raise funds for catastrophes and other major causes when necessary.
